Over the April school holidays, two of Melbourne’s finest accompanists passed away.

Janet Perkins

Janet Perkins was NBCA’s accompanist during the 1980s and toured to a number of destinations including Japan. She also accompanied at many eisteddfods in Melbourne and beyond, encouraging many young aspiring musicians.

David McSkimming

David McSkimming worked extensively with Opera Australia, Victorian Opera, and he accompanied many of Australia’s finest singers in recital. His son was in the Choir for a short time in the 1990s and David joined our staff for one of our summer camps at Bathurst.

Both of these outstanding musicians will be greatly missed.
