Speaking about former choristers, local violinist Patrick Roberts invited the boys into the recording studio last term to sing the backing for Gounod’s Ave Maria. Patrick sang with the Choir during the early 1990’s and his passion for music, in particular the violin, saw him go on to study with some of the greats of the instrument at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. He appeared with the boys on Carols by Candlelight last Christmas.
Patrick is best known for his contemporary renditions of popular classical music. His latest album Vision is to be launched on October 29 and will be available in major stores – keep an ear out for Ave Maria.
