The NBCA is a not-for-profit organisation. All income is directed back into the running of the choir to pay for staff salaries, music library, insurance, building maintenance, and administrative overheads.
Income is derived from several sources including:

  • Tuition fees, levies and refundable deposits (invoiced to families)
  • Fundraising
  • Performance fees
  • Donations and grants

Tuition Fees

Tuition Fees pay our Artistic Staff for their tuition and time as well as cover general administrative costs including providing sheet music or booklets, as well as producing Music Theory activities and games.

Levies

These are usually invoiced across Terms 1 and 2 for the calendar year and cover the cost of hire of NBCA clothing and music. This includes dry cleaning costs and repairs to stage wear and street wear. It also assists in the printing of numerous amounts of sheet Music and Booklets which are filed in Music Library once returned.

Refundable Deposits

Refundable Wardrobe, Stage wear & Music Deposits are usually collected during the chorister’s first year

  • These deposits are usually refundable when a chorister leaves the Choir and all choir property (wardrobe items and sheet music) are returned in good condition
  • The Choir reserves the right to offset refundable deposits against any unpaid choir fees/levies

Invoices

Fee invoices will be emailed within the first two weeks of each term, and payment is due within 7-14 days as specified on the invoice

  • Prompt payment is appreciated
  • Payment can be made by direct deposit or debit/credit card at the office
  • Term fees and levies are normally not refundable
  • Term fees should be paid by the due date on the invoice

Overdue Accounts

Please contact our accounts department immediately if you are having difficulty paying your account, by emailing accounts@nationalboyschoir.com.au
Unpaid accounts could result in your son not being chosen for performances or tours, not permitted to continue attending rehearsals, or even having his position in the Choir withdrawn.
Payments Plans are available to families experiencing financial difficulty. To arrange a Payment Plan please email accounts@nationalboyschoir.com.au or phone the office during business hours.

Fundraising

The income from fundraising events makes an important contribution in offsetting some of the Choir’s operating costs; these activities also provide the opportunity for the Choir Community to meet and socialise.

A plan of fundraising events is established by the Board and Staff each year. Parents are invited to join or assist the committee to set up and  organise each activity. Some of the activities include the Colour Run, Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, Christmas Hamper Raffle and Tesselaar Bulb Fundraiser.

Ticket Sales & Performance Fees

It is an important part of the NBCA experience that boys have the opportunity to sing in big central concert venues, however, they are expensive to hire! Ticket sales help to balance costs, and sometimes even provide surplus funds which can be allocated to future activities. We encourage all families to support these performances and also to ask friends and extended family members to attend.

Donations

The NBCA is a registered charity and tax-deductible donations are welcome at any time. Please contact our office or go to our website for further information.

The National Boys Choir of Australia acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we rehearse and work. We pay respect to their elders past, present and emerging.
