Performing chorister Riki is winning, both on and off the choir stage. Not only has Riki been called up for a series of performing opportunities, he is winning medals in diving. In the SSA Diving National Championships in August, Riki won silver in Platform, bronze in Pair Synchro Springboard, and placed 4th in Springboard. He has also been busy competing at the Rubik’s Speedcubing World Championships in August, before competing in snowboarding and skiing in the Victorian Snowsports Championships in August (Riki is in the Top 20 for snowboarding in Victoria!). According to his mum, Riki is “focused and committed”, exemplifying the point that choristers “can be sporty as well as musical.” (Riki also plays violin grade 8 and trombone grade 5). In -3 degree conditions, Riki and his teammates in his division came 9th in Giant Slalom and 11th in Cross as a team. Riki’s school Wesley came 6th in all Co-Ed schools in Australia. What a role model for our choir community!

The National Boys Choir of Australia acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we rehearse and work. We pay respect to their elders past, present and emerging.
