Current Performing chorister Riki Lethbridge represented Victoria in diving at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide mid-December last year. The competition attracted 4,000 students from 15 countries and it was Riki’s third year representing Victoria. The tournament was demanding requiring athletes at the pool from 8am to 4pm every day, whether Riki was competing or not. Riki admitted that competition was ‘very tough’ as he competed against elite divers; some from NSW Institute of Sport: “They were amazing!” Still, Riki walked away with a personal best of 5th in 1-metre Springboard, 6th in Team Synchro, 7th in 3-metre Springboard, 8th in 5-metre Platform and 9th in Pair Synchro. Performing at such an elite level both in and out of the pool can be credited to Riki’s discipline and commitment to both diving and NBCA. Said mum Toshie while driving back from Adelaide: “We did listen to the Carols by Candlelight music in the car singing along ready to sing at the recording!”
