The constant fl ow of talent crossing our path never ceases to amaze – the young seven and eight year old boys who enter the training choirs emerge confident skilled choristers, ready to take their place in the Performing Choir. However, in the meantime, performance opportunities are offered to hone these skills.
On the evening of September 2, the Elementary and Junior boys gave an inspiring display of singing. The Elementary choristers have only been training for seven months but their confidence on stage left the audience in no doubt they are on track for the performing choir. The Junior choristers showcased their three part harmony skills before both choirs joined to give an entertaining performance of a Lion King medley.
The audience were treated to some talented soloists: cellist Sean Chen, pianist Raphael Cahyono, and two violinists Geoff Liu and Christian Li who were all drawn from the ranks of our seven and eight years olds! Mr Adam De Wilde was a special surprise – an old boy of the Choir who recently graduated with honours in Voice from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
Adam not only sang a Cole Porter favourite, The Tale of the Oyster, but also joined with the younger boys in the Lion King medley.
