Nick Bredhauer (NBCA 2007-2011) and Choir Co-Captain 2011, attended Whitefriars College and was awarded the Father Frank Shortis Award – 2015.

The award goes to a Year 12 student who ‘over his time at the College has consistently embodied, exhibited and promoted the spirit and ethos of the College in his conduct and relationships – both within and beyond the College community’. Nick was actively involved in various community based and fundraising activities, particularly on behalf of Timor Leste and the Manningham community. This included a visit with a group of fellow Students and Teachers to Timor Leste in 2014 representing the Whitefriars community.

Nick’s time in the choir formed a great love of music with him commencing trumpet and piano lessons. He performed in many different ensembles including the Stage Band and a jazz band formed by 5 music students called “About Blue”. He was a member of the orchestra in many College musicals including Oklahoma, Oliver and Barnum to name a few. He continues to play in the Stage Band even though he has left the College.

Nick has been accepted into Monash University to study Law/Arts.

The National Boys Choir of Australia acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we rehearse and work. We pay respect to their elders past, present and emerging.
