Nicholas Carter has been appointed as Principal Conductor of Adelaide Symphony Orchestra from 2016, a role he will take on in addition to his current role as Kappelmeister of Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Nicholas is, at age 29, the fi rst Australian born conductor of a major Australian Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years.

Of the extensive press and radio interviews Nicholas gave on the announcement of his appointment, he paid tribute to the role the National Boys Choir of Australia played in his formative years. Hence the headline ‘Australian born conductor still calls Australia home’. We congratulate Nicholas and wish him well in his new role.

The National Boys Choir of Australia acknowledges the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians of the land on which we rehearse and work. We pay respect to their elders past, present and emerging.
